Luminous Photography Exhibition - Photographer in Berkshire's Exhibition comes to a close. The 10th Nov was a sad day for me as it saw the taking down of the first public showing of my creative portfolio at an exhibition at Norden Farm, Centre for the Arts in Maidenhead. As a professional photographer in Berkshire I'm used to show my commercial, portrait and wedding photography to clients who are familiar with my work (which is why they hired me I the first place). However, as I found out, it's a very different experience showing creative work to the general public that I feel is good enough to be exhibited. With out a doubt it the single most intimidating thing I've done since admitting to my friends and family that I was going to being leaving my safe and successful job to pursue photography 100% full time. |
The whole experience has been amazing and proof of the saying 'that is good to do things that scare you from time to time' and this certainly fitted the bill. As someone who has never done this before I've had to learn a great deal of technical knowledge outside of the actual photography (although actually selecting which images to show did lead to sleepless nights) such as printing, mounting, framing, positioning etc etc the list goes on! I did receive fantastic advice from the experienced team at Norden Farm plus the printers and framers that I used to produce my image s so I must thank Dave Essex at One Vision Images and Marvin at Eye Candy Art Group. All gave up a lot of time to help me get the results. Please see a few images from the show but if you' like to see everything the please click here and get in touch for the password |
