As a professional wedding photographer in Berkshire its always fun to photograph a couples special day at a venue that I've not shot at in the past. Although I've done many locations across Berkshire, The Compleat Angler in Marlow was a fresh challenge for me, so a week or so before the wedding day I went into Marlow to scout out a few locations in and around the hotel.
Due to the wedding being in England in July, you can never guarantee a dry wedding day, so I found potential shoot locations for both wet and dry scenarios should the skies decide to open on their big day!
On the day of the wedding itself we were very lucky with the weather, as it only rained when I was photographing inside. When I took the couple on a 20 minute walk around the hotel and church for their portrait session, it thankfully stayed completely dry, and we were able to get the following photographs.
It just goes to highlight the importance of planning and preparation in wedding photography as you can never guarantee everything will go as you'd like it 'on the day'. But by planning for as many eventualities as possible you can help with the smooth running of the day and give the wedding couple photographs that exceed expectations.
